Small Business Administration 504 Loan Financing:
The 504 Certified Development Company (CDC) Program provides growing businesses with long-term, fixed-rate financing for major fixed assets, such as land and buildings. A Certified Development Company is a nonprofit corporation set up to contribute to the economic development of its community. CDCs work with the SBA and private-sector lenders to provide financing to small businesses.

Use of funds:

  • Acquisition of land or building
  • Building construction or remodeling
  • Machinery acquisition.

The 504 Program cannot be used for working capital or inventory, consolidating or repaying debt, or refinancing.

  • Private lender provides up to 50% of project costs.
  • SBA 504 program provides up to 40% of project costs.
  • Owner injects 10% of capital needed.

San Joaquin County Revolving Loan Fund:
For individuals who want to expand or locate their business in San Joaquin County.

May also be used for business startups and gap financing.

Use of funds:

  • Acquisitions of owner occupied land and facilities
  • Building construction or remodeling
  • Acquisition of equipment, furniture, and fixtures
  • Leasehold improvements
  • Working capital needs
  • Inventory.
This is a direct loan to individuals.

Requirements: 

  • One job created for every $20,000 loaned, however, each loan request is considered individually.

Small Business Innovation Research Program:
This program enables qualified small businesses to compete for research project funding from the Federal Government.

Small businesses must meet certain eligibility criteria to participate in the SBIR program.

  • American-owned and independently operated
  • For-profit
  • Principal researcher employed by business
  • Company size limited to 500

Recycling Market Development Zone Program:
The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) offers low interest loans up to $2 million to qualifying recycling-based manufacturers.

Funds can be used for:

  • Acquire equipment.
  • Make leasehold improvements.
  • Purchase recycled raw materials and inventory.
  • Acquire owner-occupied real property (limited to $500,000)

Rates, Terms Fees:

  • Fixed low rates set annually by the Board 
  • Terms up to ten years.
  • A nonrefundable application fee of $300.00 is due at time of application submittal.

Integrated Waste Management Revolving Loan Program

The RMDZ revolving loan program provides direct loans to eligible businesses that use postconsumer or secondary waste materials to manufacture new products or that reduce the waste resulting from the manufacture of a product.  These low-interest loans promote market demand for postconsumer and secondary waste materials.

Ripon Redevelopment Agency Revolving Loan Fund:
The goal of the RLF is to retain, expand and increase employment opportunities within the small business community. This fund provides financing to qualified small businesses having less than 50 employees.

QUALIFYING
All new and existing for-profit small businesses in Ripon who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for a loan:

  • U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • Owner must make or already have a cash investment in the business
  • Profitable existing business or ability of new business to show a profit.
  • Demonstrate ability to repay the loan.
  • Reasonable credit history and payment record.

THE LOAN
Loans are available from $5,000 to $50,000, but cannot exceed 67% of total project cost. A loan fee is due at loan closing.

REQUIREMENTS
The Agency requires copies of the following information to complete the processing of your loan application:

  • Current business plan
  • Federal tax returns (last three years)
  • Income statements (current and last two years)
  • Balance sheets (current and last two years)
  • Current cash and other liquid assets
  • Cash flow projections (next three years)
  • A nonrefundable fee of $25
