Parks and Recreation Director

The formal job of the Director is to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council, and to oversee and carry out the powers and duties pertaining to all aspects of the parks and recreation department including, but not limited to, parks and recreation planning, design, expansion, programming, and implementation.

Parks and Recreation Commission

The formal job of the Parks and Recreation Commission is to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council, Recreation Director, and City Staff in all matters pertaining to public parks and recreation, and to cooperate with other governmental agencies and groups in the advancement of sound park planning, recreation, and programming. The Commission should assist the Recreation Director, as he shall from time to time direct, in the enforcement of rules and regulations as may be adopted by resolution of the City Council and the Commission. They are also required to carry out such other powers and duties as may be given to them by the City Council and/or the Recreation Director.
