Low-Income Discounts

Discounts are available for utilities and housing. The City also has a specially equipped bus and volunteer drivers for the elderly and persons with disabilities.

 

If your annual income in 2008 was within the total household income level shown in the chart below, you are eligible to receive a discount this year.

 

IMPORTANT:

You must renew your application every year or you will lose your discount status.

Below Market Rate (BMR) Housing Program
Assistance for Qualified Buyers

 

The Below-Market-Rate program is for new construction homes, which are sold below market rate at an affordable price to a qualified household. Resale restrictions apply.

The City of Ripon, through its BMR Housing Program and Development Agreements, requires developers to provide a percentage of affordable units in their new construction residential projects. Qualifying for one of these homes is based on income limits established by Federal Law (HUD).

Home Improvement Loans

 

The 2009 HIL program provides low interest deferred loans that help qualified lower income homeowners make needed improvements and repairs. This program is also offered to rental property owners whose tenants and rent rates meet the program qualifications.

GAP Loan Program

 

The GAP Loan Program provides down-payment assistance loan to very-low, low, and moderate income, first-time home buyers. These loans are intended to bridge the "gap" between the cost of a home and what the household can afford.

Ripon Transit Bus Service

 

Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities

The City of Ripon offers a transit bus service to the general public, persons with disabilities, and our senior citizens. The city bus runs every Thursday unless special trips are arranged.The Ripon bus service is a fifteen mile radius from the city limits.
