New LED streetlights to be installed in Ripon

The City is working with PG&E to convert approximately, 548 PG&E-owned streetlights to energy efficient and longer lasting Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures. PG&E will begin installation of the new fixtures next week.

Large Unwanted Item Pick Up Program

The Spring Clean Up Program has changed. We are no longer picking up unwanted items the 1st two weeks of May. Residents are now able to schedule a pick up of large unwanted items between the months of April through September.

Understanding Local Flood Control

There has been a lot in the news about local dams, such as Don Pedro Dam, and the need to release water because of full reservoirs. The City of Ripon is located adjacent to the Stanislaus River, which the river flow is controlled upstream by New Melones Dam. As of February 24th, New Melones Reservoir is 63% full, which is normal for this time of year. The City of Ripon will continue to monitor releases from New Melones Dam and will advise residents if we become aware of any concerns of flooding in our community.
