Each of these events are possible because of many hours of work done by volunteers – your neighbors.

ALMOND BLOSSOM FESTIVAL 

The Almond Blossom Festival is always on the last weekend in February.

COMMUNITY YARD SALE AT MISTLIN SPORTS PARK

Sponsored by the City of Ripon (CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19)

Spring: First Saturday in May

7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Mistlin Sports Park
South-west Parking Lot.

Residents: $5 per space (maximum of 3 spaces)
Non-Residents: $10 per space

Fall: Second Saturday in October

Maps will be available after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9th at SaveMart, Ace Hardware and at City City Hall.

LARGE UNWANTED ITEM PICK UP PROGRAM
(program replaces Spring Clean Up Program)

Sponsored by the City of Ripon 

Residents are now able to schedule a pick up of large unwanted items between the months of April through September.  To dispose of items through this program:

-  Call or e-mail the Public Works Department (209) 599-2151 or largeitempickup@cityofripon.org or fill out the online form - FORM PAGE
- You will be provided a confirmation number of your scheduled pick up day.
- Place your unwanted item(s) on the street in front of the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled pick up day, but no earlier than the day before.

Large Unwanted Item Pick up Program Rules:

-  Each residential utility customer may schedule one pick up per year.
-  Only acceptable items (see list - click here) will be picked up.
-  Limit of 4 large items per customer.
-  Items must be placed on the street in front of the curb in a manner that does not obstruct the path of travel of vehicles and pedestrians.
-  Only items of customers with a confirmation number will be picked up.

  • Televisions / Computer monitors - Ripon Recycling Center
  • Household Batteries (drop off at City Hall, Police Department, Library, or Senior Center)
  • Truck or tractor tires - (For disposal contact: Swier Tire @ (209) 599-7512)
  • Household Hazardous Waste (Call HHW Facility (209) 468-3066)
  • Paint / Types of chemical / Motor oil (Call HHW Facility (209) 468-3066)
  • Fluorescent Light Bulbs (Call HHW Facility (209) 468-3066)

Computer, TVs, CFLs, and Major Appliances Disposal
The San Joaquin County Lovelace Transfer Station offers free disposal for homeowners or business on the second Tuesday of each month.

Taste of Ripon

Date: First Thursday in December

  • 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Participants are given a wristband and wine glass
  • Participating merchants provide refreshments

Soaring over Ripon (formerly known as Color the Skies)

Date: Labor Day weekend
Hot Air Balloons, Carnival, booths, and activities for all ages.
