There has been a lot in the news about local dams, such as Don Pedro Dam, and the need to release water because of full reservoirs. The City of Ripon is located adjacent to the Stanislaus River, which the river flow is controlled upstream by New Melones Dam. As of February 24th, New Melones Reservoir is 63% full, which is normal for this time of year. The City of Ripon will continue to monitor releases from New Melones Dam and will advise residents if we become aware of any concerns of flooding in our community.
