Ripon is located directly on Highway 99, a major north-south trucking route through California's Central Valley. Interstate 5 is the main north-south route from Canada to Mexico. The area is also well connected for east-west transportation with Interstate 580 running to the San Francisco Bay Area and Interstate 80 running through Reno, Nevada, and points further east.
After the success of the Jack Tone Interchange, the cities of Manteca and Ripon have been studying the possibility of building interchanges on Highway 99 at South Austin Road and South Olive Avenue. Both cities, through a cooperative agreement, are actively planning for these interchanges knowing that traffic will increase as cities build out according to their General Plan.
