[ARCHIVED] City of Ripon Offering Fund-Raising Opportunity to Local Non-Profits

Recycling Symbol

The Ripon Recycling Center is a unique opportunity that allows residents and businesses to drop off recyclable materials and 100 percent of the revenue generated from the sale of the recycled materials goes to the local non-profits that are volunteering.  By residents and businesses dropping off their recyclable materials at the Recycling Center, 327 tons of cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, glass, and electronics are removed each year from customers black cans, thus saving Ripon residents the expense of the City to dispose of these materials while generating revenue for the local non-profits.

The Recycling Center has been operating in partnership between the City of Ripon, Ripon Unified School District Parent Faculty Clubs, and American Recycling since 2005.  The Ripon Unified School District Elementary Parent Faculty Clubs will no longer be participating in the Ripon Recycling Center as of the end of May 2024.

The City of Ripon is seeking local non-profit organizations to partner with and help operate the Ripon Recycling Center. Participation hours may vary, typically the Recycling Center is staffed by volunteers 8 hours per week, and all proceeds from the recycled materials will be distributed back to the non-profit organizations.
