Uniformed Patrol

The Patrol Division of the Ripon Police Department is composed of 16 uniformed Patrol Officers (when fully staffed), who are supervised by 4 Sergeants and 1 Lieutenant. These officers are the first to respond to calls for service round the clock, 365 days a year, providing top-quality service to the community. They act as the first line of defense against criminal activities and often handle high-risk incidents while ensuring the safety of the public.

Apart from their call of duty, Patrol Officers also proactively address the issues faced by the community they serve, working to mitigate problems before they arise. For instance, they patrol neighborhoods and business districts to suppress criminal activities and conduct targeted traffic enforcement activities throughout the city to protect community members on the roadways.

Patrol Officers are the face of the Department, and they engage with the community directly. They make appearances weekly on school campuses in a friendly and positive manner to connect with kids. They also participate in several community functions, such as National Night Out, Unity in the Community, AOR meetings (area of responsibility), Coffee with a Cop, Holiday events within the city, and many more.

Our Officers take pride in knowing the community members they serve and the challenges facing the city. Please feel free to introduce yourself and get to know them better.
